Do Frogs Eat Aphids

I found another frog sitting on an okra leaf as if he had found a giant lily pad. I searched the net and can you believe that some people grow aphids to feed to frogs!! I sure hope that all the frogs that I am seeing in the garden will keep the aphids out!!!

The cantaloupe has reached the top of the trellis. I find myself looking at it and thinking... REACH FOR THE SKY!!

Check out the Tuesday Garden Party at An Oregon Cottage and Oh, How My Garden Grows!

Blessings,

  1. Love the frog. And I can't imagine having to raise aphids. Here in Oregon we have no shortage of them! I am envious of your cantaloupe. Mine is all of 4 inches long right now. Has yours set fruit yet? Happy gardening!

  3. Lexa, I can't imagine growing aphids either. Whoever grows them must not have a garden!! My cantaloupe has set fruit. I have one that is the size of a large grapefruit. I think if you click on the cantaloupe label at the end of my post, it will show you all the posts about my cantaloupe. I also hope to post a blog tomorrow updating the status of my cantaloupe.

  5. Growing aphids? Couldn't do it, not even for such a cute little frog. Hopefully he'll keep them away for you! Thanks for sharing!

  9. I love it when frogs visit- I knew they were good for the garden, but didn't know that about the aphids. Another reason to like frogs. Thanks for sharing at the TGP!
