This morning I harvested 1.25 pounds of soybeans from my garden...
Tonight we had Edamame for supper!! YUM!!!
This was my first adventure with growing soybeans and I will definitely grow them again... probably another crop this fall.
Blessings,
Debbie
That was some harvest for the first ;o), I was meaning to try raising some also, but my land fell short. I'm going to be planting stuff in containers it looks like it might be the next best thing for me :o)
ReplyDeleteThat looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteDelicious! I am growing some this year too for the first time! How many plants did it take to harvest that much?
ReplyDeleteGinny, I grew mine in my square foot garden. It was easy. Basically, plant, water, and watch it grow. (I think I did talk to them a few times!) I think you might be able to plant some for the fall where you live.
ReplyDeleteDaphne, thanks!
Megan, about 50 plants BUT the weather has been so hot and dry here for the last 3 weeks that I think that reduced my harvest. Also, I planted them about 6 inches apart but recently learned they can be planted about 3 inches apart.
Thanks for sharing this! We are growing soybeans on our rooftop garden for the first time, and they are the surprise winners of the year - they have grown so well! We will be picking the soybeans shortly in the next few weeks... the only problem is I think we grew too much! My freezer will be stocked!
